work culture of Hospitality industry.
The half day
workshop was divided into small interactive sessions. The first session was on
Corporate Grooming and was followed by a talk on Body language. The second
session was on Interview skills and Group discussion etiquette. The focus of
these sessions was to groom the MBA students for campus placements and to
enhance their soft skills, resulting in higher employability. The students were
given practical tips and advice on grooming, conduct and other social
interaction guidelines that would be useful for campus recruitment and self
improvement.
The final
session of the day was on Dining etiquette. The session was an interesting experience for
the students and faculty. The inputs on corporate dining, “reading” the table,
use of cutlery and glassware, correct use of napkin, western dining in courses,
were some of the highlight of the session. The presentation was followed by a
four course continental lunch in fine dining style. Inputs on how to negotiate
each course correctly, was demonstrated by the trainers.
The feedback
from the students were highly encouraging, most students felt that the session
would go a long way in improving their social skills and also open their minds
to hospitality in Business learning.
